China Scholarship Council Graduate Scholarship Program

Up to 70 scholarships will be available for Ph.D. study to candidates who are citizens and permanent residents of the People’s Republic of China at the time of applying for entry for the academic year.

Full Ph.D. candidates: 20 per year
Students will get their Ph.D. degrees at Georgia Tech/Emory University/PKU.

Visiting Ph.D. candidates: 50 per year
Students will complete research at Tech and will return to China to receive their Ph.D.

Candidates should have satisfied all English language requirements and have received an offer of admission from Georgia Tech to study in a full-time Ph.D. degree program by the time the institution puts forward its list of endorsed applications.

About this Scholarship

China Scholarship Council (CSC) – Post-graduate Study Abroad Program is a national scholarship program financing outstanding Chinese students to study at top universities around the world. Georgia Tech is a partner university in this program.

The online application for CSC scholarships opens in each calendar year:

First round: March of each calendar year

Second round: May of each calendar year

CSC suggests applicants apply in the first round because the second round will not take place if allocated funding has been used up in the first round. Please refer to CSC website for the most up-to-date information.

Scholarship Amount

The Georgia Tech faculty advisor will provide tuition for successful applicants in the form of scholarships, assistant teaching, fellowships, etc.

CSC will normally cover round-trip international airfare, health insurance, a living allowance, and the visa application fee. The expected study duration is 48 months for full Ph.D. candidates and 6-24 months for joint Ph.D. candidates.
