Georgia Tech’s Office of Graduate Education receives over 30,000 applications a year, with many of our applicants holding degrees earned from schools located outside of the United States. To ensure all applicants experience a quick and smooth application review process, we have partnered with Educational Perspectives, International Education Evaluators (IEE), and SpanTran Pathways to expedite the verification and evaluation process of our applicants’ international credentials.

Applicants who attended an international school may be selected to have their international credentials evaluated by one of our partners as part of our application review process. If your application is selected for this partner service, it will be completed at no cost to you. You will receive two emails: first from the Office of Graduate Education letting you know that you have been selected to have an evaluation completed by one of our service partners and the second from our service partner indicating that your application has been sent to them. You must follow the instructions from our service partner to complete your part of the evaluation process. Failure to complete your part of this process will result in significant delays with the application review process.

Our partnership with these three credential evaluation services requires that we share the following information with them through a secure server:

  • Your Full Name
  • Your Date of Birth
  • Your Email address
  • Name(s) of school(s) that you attended outside of the United States along with the degree earned/expected.

Once our partners successfully complete their evaluation of your documents, our office will receive copies of all the official documents that you sent to the evaluation service along with the credential evaluation. We consider these documents to be official and will not require you to submit them to us. There may be instances where the evaluation service may not require documents that our office does. In those cases, you will still be required to provide the outstanding official documents to us.

Educational Perspectives, International Education Evaluations and SpanTran also offer translation services. If your academic documents are not in English, and your previous institution does not provide official English documents, you can use one of these services to complete a word for word translation. Any costs associated with translations will be the applicant’s responsibility.

Important Information for Applicants with International Credentials

It is highly recommended that applicants with international credentials utilize the services of one of our partners prior to starting an application. While there is a cost associated with this service, applying with evaluated credentials will expedite your application review process. If you choose to apply with evaluated credentials, you will receive a copy of your official credential evaluation and can have it sent to other institutions to which you are applying.

If your credentials are evaluated as part of the Georgia Tech application review process, you will not receive a copy, nor will you be able to send it to other institutions.

If you are interested in having your credentials evaluated by one of these services, use the links below to receive a discount on the cost of the evaluation.

Georgia Tech does not accept evaluations performed by any other credential evaluation service.
