When it comes to making a smooth transition to becoming a student at Georgia Tech, there are a few events and programs that you'll want to take full advantage of. Read on for the details you need to know about each.
In addition to the orientation that your individual program might hold (which you'll want to be sure to attend), the Office of Graduate Studies also hosts several new student welcome orientation sessions at various times of the year to introduce you to Georgia Tech-wide resources and policies.
Fall 2018 Institute Graduate Orientation will include a 50-60 minute session held multiple times between August 9 - 21. See the session options below for dates, times, and locations and register for a session that fits your schedule. Advanced registration is required as space is limited.
To register, please click the corresponding registration link for the session you wish to register for; each student may register for only one session. You will be required to login with your GT account and password to access the registration system. If you have not yet activated your GT account please visit the Passport website and click the "I need to activate my GT Account" link. If you have been notified by your program or the Office of Graduate Studies that you have been pre-registered in advance, you DO NOT need to register again here.

Every August, the Office of Graduate Studies hosts the GradExpo resource fair to help new graduate students learn about campus services, student organizations, and local businesses in the surrounding community. The Fall 2018 GradExpo event will take place on Thursday, August 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Clough Commons.
The Office of Graduate Studies also coordinates an extended orientation program called Grad Groups. If you are a new graduate student looking to meet diverse graduate students from across campus, learn from an older graduate student about what it takes to be successful at Tech, and get exposure to campus departments who are here to serve your needs, Grad Groups is the place for you. Be sure to fill out the interest form on the Grad Groups webpage to be informed about how to register.
